Upper James River Atlas

Published by the Virginia Canals and Navigation Society, this is just one of a popular series of atlases of the Virginia rivers. This atlas follows the James River above (upstream) from Lynchburg. Of particular note is a substantial collection of notes about the 1854 accident of the packetboat Clinton and highlights the heroism of the slave Frank Padget.
